Mark Kriski on KTLA morning news trying to ask a representative from the Neon Museum about a piece of neon in his bedroom that hums and keeps him awake.
July 24, 2008: Visuals out of sync with Sound
A bar in Hermosa beach is set to re-open two years after being destroyed by a fire. On the news this morning they interviewed the owner about changes he has made in the redesign to address community noise complaints. The interview took place in front of a row of shiny frozen daiquiri machines… which we all know leads to quiet and peaceful behavior.July 23, 2008: John McCain meets the Video Professor.
July 23, 2008: 15 minutes of infamy
Recently a reporter from KTLA got called a jackass on live TV buy asking someone in line for an iPhone when the last time he saw a woman naked was. He was having fun, being playful but took it too far and fortunately the guy in line called him on it. He is a good reporter, I have seen him for years, he is one of my favotites. It points out just how hard it is to do live media, any media for that matter for any length of time without saying something you regret or was taken by someone in a way that offends.
Don Imus and Michael Savage (fun fact - real name is Michael Weiner) have run into this in a larger and more evil way as the reaction was orchestrated by a “family” group that has an agenda.
In this age where everything is recorded or filmed and posted worldwide in seconds I would revise Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame to say that everyone will have their 15 minutes of infamy.

Saturday night from 7pm to 7am Santa Monica had a festival on the Pier called “Glow”. Over 200,000 people came out, I decided to go at 4:30am (and missed most of the crowd). These are the closing ceremonies where Brazilian dancers in white danced to the ocean to throw flowers into the water.
